Requirements

1. Registration services are provided solely to members in good standing of the North American Devon Cattle Association. No certificate will be issued except with the appropriate application and fee.

2. Parentage of sire and dam of male or female of each animal presented for registration must accompany application for registry of said animal and be listed as a full pure blood North Devon bull and cow showing three (3) generations in one of the recognized Devon registries worldwide.

3. There shall be no white or black hair found on the body of any animal for registry or registered animals except a small white patch found on the udder of the cow or a small white spot found in front of and on the back of belly of the purse area of the bull. White hair in the prepuce, navel area of the bull or cow disqualifies them for registration.

4. All semen, embryos and live animals coming into America from other countries must be supported with registry papers for proof of parentage, and also a DNA test for proof of parentage to qualify for registry papers.

5. DNA typing is required of all embryo transplant calves. See accompanying NADA policy on DNA typing.

6. DNA typing is required of all bulls used in artificial insemination. See accompanying NADA policy on DNA typing.

7. In cases of dispute, a representative of NADA will be given complete and unlimited access to the disputed animal, including the right to draw laboratory samples.

8. A person found to be willfully violating any of the requirements or standards of the NADA registry will be dismissed from the Association and the record of the animal(s) in question will be expunged.

9. In all matters, appeals may be brought to the board of directors of NADA and the decision of the board shall be final.
